We own Our New Home. Feast of Peter and Paul

Writer's picture: stiparishorgstiparishorg

Praise God, we have closed on Our New Home at 50 Nutt Rd. Thank you to all who prayed, supported, and worked for this goal. Liturgy 9 and 11 at 5915 N Springboro Pike on June 30th.

"If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness." 2 Corinthians 11:30 Who can become a disciple maker? Peter and Paul are not my first choices for prominent roles in the Church. Paul is weak and rash. Paul has openly opposed and persecuted the Church. Peter is uneducated and Paul did not meet Jesus during the years of Jesus' earthly ministry. Peter smelled like fish. Paul was "too religious". Peter and Paul are not even their names. Peter used to go by Simon, Paul used to go by Saul. "What were they hiding?" Paul boasts in his weakness directly. Peter wore his denials of Jesus on his sleeves. Mark, who was a disciple of Peter, tells us of Peter's denials, because the denials were not secret. Peter and Paul were not men of secrets, but men of proclamation. "God has a plan for my life, my sin got in the way of that plan, Jesus died and rose to take away my sin, so that my life could be transformed, I could be filled with the Holy Spirit, and become part of the Church, so that together I cna live the plan God has for my life." Both Peter and Paul acknowledge their weakness and are able to accept in humility God's help through Jesus. Weak men made strong they are able to share with others what they have freely received- a transformational, meaningful, personal, real relationship with Jesus Christ. Am I strong enough to admit that I am weak, that I have sinned so that Jesus can bring me freedom, healing, and power? May the prayers of Sts. Peter and Paul be with us, and may their examples be to us a cause of our own transformation. If there is a day over the next few weeks when you would like to organize a group to clean or landscape please let us know.
